“US Troops Won’t Bleed” Israel Not Seeking “Military Aid” To Fight Iran, Biden Sends Jets To Mideast US President Joe Biden warned Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu against escalating tensions amid risks of a regional war. In a "tough" phone call on August 1, Biden told Netanyahu to "stop escalating tension in the region," Axios reported, citing two US officials. Biden reportedly complained to Netanyahu that the two had discussed securing a hostage deal but Israel went ahead with Ismail Haniyeh’s assassination. Biden also warned Netanyahu that if he escalates again, he "shouldn't count on the US to bail him out," a US official told Axios. Meanwhile, Israel’s National Security Council claims the US will provide it with any support needed if Iran attacks, but Tel Aviv is not asking for military aid. The Pentagon said it will deploy additional fighter jets and warships in the Middle East to bolster defences following threats from Iran and its proxies.
