A report by The War Zone (TWZ) suggested that a laser has been installed on one of the Chinese Navy’s Type 071 amphibious transport dock ships. The laser weapon, featuring a movable dome-like cover, is positioned behind the ship’s 76mm dual-purpose gun and was spotted after a refit. The laser weapon’s capabilities and the exact vessel were unclear from the photographs. However, the censored image hinted it might be a Type 071 ship with a hull number starting with “98,” as per reports.
