Third Heat Wave Brings Soaring Temperatures In Mexico Mexico continued to sizzle on May 22 after the National Weather Service (SMN) announced the start of the country's third heat wave on May 20, just a week after the second heat wave of the year ended.In a report released on Wednesday, the SMN said that the third heat wave of the season would continue across most of Mexico, with temperatures above 45 degrees Celsius forecast in 9 states of the country: Sinaloa, Guerrero, Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosi, Veracruz, Tabasco, Campeche and Yucatan.In Leon, in central Mexico, an archbishop and parishioners gathered on a sunny May 12 at the empty El Palote dam to hold a mass asking for rain, as the country is also facing a drought.Mexico is facing a severe nationwide drought that has led to a worsening water crisis across much of the country, making water a key issue in the June general election
