Russia Evacuates Belgorod Over Deadly Shelling, Ukraine Warns Putin's Buffer Zones Will Escalate War Russia claimed it had destroyed tens of rockets fired from Ukrainian territory by Czech-made Vampire MLRS* over the weekend. Russia's Defense Ministry said it had "destroyed 10 rockets" in a Ukrainian attack on Belgorod by an RM-70 Vampire MLRS on March 18. The Vampire MLRS is capable of deploying concentrated bursts of fire into larger areas destroying personnel as well as combat machinery. Russian authorities said Ukrainian shelling killed four people near Russia's border city of Belgorod on March 18.
