Russia Claims It Wiped Out Ukrainian Unit During Operation In Nikolayev Region The Russian military reported the destruction of a Ukrainian special forces unit during a failed amphibious operation in Nikolayev Region. Russian forces thwarted a Ukrainian group attempting to land on Kinburn Spit, which connects to Kherson Region and extends into the Black Sea. The unit, consisting of up to 16 members on motorboats, hit a minefield and was then attacked by small arms fire. Ukrainian forces suffered 12 casualties, with two boats destroyed during their evacuation. Drone footage revealed damaged boats and casualties at the site.
