As the bangs ran out, Trump clutched his right ear, looked at the blood on his hand, and quickly dropped to the ground behind the podium. US Secret Service agents swarmed onto the podium, surrounded the Republican candidate, and escorted him roughly off the stage. Trump was seen raising his fist to the crowd in defiance with blood visible across his face while the agents moved him to a nearby black SUV. The Secret Service said in a statement that the shooter was shot dead, one rally attendee was killed, and two other spectators were injured in the incident.
