Putin Slams "Provocation" As Ukraine Raids Russia's Kursk | "Kyiv Has Opened Second Front In Africa" Russia's army chief Valery Gerasimov told President Putin that up to 1,000 Ukrainian troops took part in a cross-border attack on Kursk. Putin accused Ukraine of another “large-scale provocation”.At least five civilians have been killed and 24 wounded since the incursion began, according to Russian officials. Authorities in Kursk also evacuated several thousand civilians due to fighting.Russia’s defence ministry announced it had deployed air and artillery firepower to repel Ukrainian troops.
