North Korea Blows Up Roads Connecting It To South North Korea detonated sections of inter-Korean roads and rail lines on its side of the heavily fortified border with South Korea, the South’s military reported on October 15. The explosions occurred around midday, targeting northern parts of the roads and railways linked to the South, according to a statement from South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS). Footage provided by South Korean military showed explosions at roads along the inter-Korean border, with North Korean soldiers and trucks mobilised at the site. In response, South Korea's military fired warning shots south of the military demarcation line, though no damage was caused on their side. The detonations followed Pyongyang’s recent pledge to sever inter-Korean connections and further fortify its border areas.
