A Moscow court has extended the detention of Russian journalist Antonina Favorskaya, who covered the trials of opposition leader Alexei Navalny, citing charges of extremism. Favorskaya, accused of working with Navalny’s outlawed Foundation for Fighting Corruption, faces a lengthy pre-trial period as authorities continue to suppress media freedom in the country. Her arrest reflects the broader crackdown on journalists and dissidents in Russia, where many face imprisonment under harsh accusations. Favorskaya, alongside others, represents the latest target in the state's efforts to stifle dissent.
