Left Wins Most Seats In France Elections, Far-Right Bardella Slams Macron's "Alliance Of Dishonour" A coalition of Left parties sprung a surprise in the France’s parliamentary elections after winning the most number of seats. President Macron’s centrist alliance came in second and Marine Le Pen’s far-right National Rally (RN), which was predicted to win the elections, was third. France now faces a hung parliament as none of blocs crossed the 289 seats mark to win an absolute majority in the 577-member house. The Left bloc of National Popular Front won 182 seats, Macron's centrist alliance 168 and Le Pen's RN and allies 143, interior ministry data cited by Le Monde showed. France’s PM Gabriel Attal announced his resignation soon after preliminary results were announced on July 7.
