"Kim Has Nothing To Lose" South Korea Slams North's Missile "Provocation" As Blinken Visits Seoul North Korea launched short-range ballistic missiles into the sea on March 18 for the first time in two months. This happened as US Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Seoul for a conference on democracy hosted by President Yoon Suk Yeol. Blinken said that the US will support South Korea on a firm response for peace and stability on the Korean peninsula against North’s “provocation.” South Korea's military said several short-range missiles flew about 300 km after being fired from Pyongyang, which landed off the east coast.
