Kamala Harris Pins Hopes On Women Voters, But Trump Believes Abortion Is Not Key To Suburban Votes Recent polls and early voting data suggest that women are showing considerably more support for Kamala Harris. This is so particularly among young women. At the heart of women's concerns is the defining Roe v Wade case under which abortion rights had been granted nationally back in 1973. In 2022 the Supreme Court overturned that right to leave that decision to states. Harris has been emphatic in demanding national rights back, whereas Trump has been ambivalent. But at the end of the day, gender rights have been a major issue in this campaign.
