Israel-Lebanon War: IDF ‘Finds’ Hezbollah Tunnel ‘Stocked with Iranian, Russian Arms’ Near UN Post The Israeli army took reporters to what they said was a Hezbollah tunnel shaft some 200 metres (219 yards) from a UN post in southern Lebanon on Sunday (October 13).Brigadier General Yiftach Norkin told reporters that the structure built by Hezbollah is "against every part of the 1701 decision (United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701) and actually we are standing in a military base of Hezbollah very close to the to the UN."Security Council resolution 1701 was adopted in 2006 to help the Lebanese army keep its southern border area with Israel free of weapons or armed personnel other than those of the Lebanese state. The United Nations says that both sides have long-violated resolution 1701.The tour also included a display of ammunition and what Israel's military said is an Iranian improvised explosive device (IED), designed to explode a gate and allow Hebzollah forces to enter Israel during an attack.
