Hashem Safieddine, a top Hezbollah official was widely expected to succeed Nasrallah. During a briefing with the military's northern command, Gallant said Hezbollah was now “a battered and broken organisation.” The Israeli PM said that Hezbollah "is weaker than it's been for many, many years" after the killing of Nasrallah and his would-be-successors.
