Hundreds Enter India After Deadly Bangladesh Protests | SC Moves To Cut Quotas | Arrests In UAE Bangladesh authorities extended the curfew across the country on July 21 amid “shoot-on-sight” order as the army patrolled parts of Dhaka. The curfew was extended hours before the Bangladesh Supreme Court "scrapped most of the quotas on government jobs" that led to the nationwide protests. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said the curfew will be relaxed from 3 pm to 5 pm on July 21 for people to run essential errands. Meanwhile, the US State Department issued a travel advisory, urging Americans not to travel to Bangladesh due to "civil unrest" amid ongoing protests. The United Arab Emirates arrested several Bangladeshi expatriates for protesting against their government on UAE soil, where demonstrations are banned.
