Hamas "Rejects" Egypt's Proposal, Holds Talks With Fatah, Israel to Offer “$7 Mn” for Each Hostage? Hamas has rejected a proposal for a short-term ceasefire and hostage release deal put forward by Egypt, the US State Department said. The revelation was made in a US readout issued on Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s call with Egyptian Foreign Minister on November 4. Blinken said “Hamas has once again refused to release even a limited number of hostages,” as per the readout. Meanwhile, Israel’s Channel 12 reported that PM Netanyahu is examining a new proposal to free the hostages. According to the report, Netanyahu is prepared to offer “several million dollars” to the captors for the release of each hostage.In addition, the captors who release hostages would be guaranteed “safe passage” for them and their families, the report stated.
