"Groundwork Laid" For Iran's Attack On Israel, IRGC Promises "Crushing Revenge" For Haniyeh Killing The political advisor of Iran’s Supreme Leader has said that the groundwork for a severe response to the Israeli regime has been laid. Brigadier General Esmail Qa'ani made the remarks in a letter addressed to Yahya Sinwar, the new political chief of Hamas. Sinwar’s elevation came after the assassination of Haniyeh, which took place in the Iranian capital Tehran in July.Gen. Qa’ani cited the promise made by Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei to deliver a "harsh response" to the Israeli regime.
