Gaza War "Recruiting Opportunity" For Terrorists, Anger Against US "Inspiring Lone Actors" The US State Department’s top intelligence official has warned that the war in Gaza is bolstering recruitment among terrorist outfits. The Gaza war “is and will be a generational event” that terrorist organisations use as a “recruiting opportunity,” the official told Washington Post. The assessment was made by Brett Holmgren, the assistant secretary of state for intelligence and research.The Gaza war is also providing “inspiration for lone actors” furious over the United States’ staunch support for Israel, The WaPo report said. “We’ve already seen that play out to some degree in Europe,” Holmgren said, referring to the arrests in Germany and the Netherlands for plotting attacks on Jewish sites.
