French Air Mission To Indo-Pacific Includes Philippines As Paris & Manila Strengthen Defence Ties French Air Force mission touring the Indo-Pacific region will include a stopover in Philippines for the first time. The Philippines’ stopover will be part of Pegase 24 which is a yearly French Air and Space Force mission to the Indo-Pacific.A contingent from the French Air and Space Force taking part in the Pegase 24 will stop over at Clark Air Base. The air base located 93 km northwest of Manila was formerly operated by the US military until 1991.It’s the latest in a series of moves by Paris to build closer security ties with Manila. Analysts say that move also underscores French strategic interests in its trade routes and defence markets.
