'Deadliest Month' for Israel Troops in Gaza & Lebanon, IDF Strikes Beirut After Deadly Rocket Attack Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu met US officials on October 31 to discuss a possible deal to end the war with Hezbollah in Lebanon. Netanyahu told US envoys Amos Hochstein and Brett McGurk that any deal with Lebanon must ensure Israel's long-term oversight. Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant also met the Americans diplomats or a separate discussion. According to Gallant, the talks focused on security arrangements concerning Lebanon and efforts to secure the return of 101 hostages from Gaza. Netanyahu expressed gratitude for American support in the ongoing wars, but stated that he would not accept all US demands.
