18 Killed As Aircraft Crashes During Take-Off In Kathmandu | Over 360 Killed In Nepal Since 2000 A passenger plane crashed during its take-off in Kathmandu, Nepal, killing as many as 18 people aboard. The pilot, who is currently receiving treatment in hospital, is the only survivor of the fatal accident. A Nepali police spokesman said the Saurya Airlines flight was carrying two crew members and 17 of the company's staff members when it crashed. Nepal has a woeful track record on aviation safety and the Himalayan republic has seen a spate of deadly plane and helicopter crashes. Before the crash on July 24, nearly 360 people had been killed in the country in air crashes since the year 2000. Watch the video to find out more.
